Gonzalo Lizardo was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas in 1965. After studying chemical engineering, he devoted himself to graphic arts and journalism, before concentrating on literature. He has published an essay book and five fiction books, including Perpetual Check (Era, 2005) and Heart of Shit (Era, 2007). He was a fellow of the Fonca Young Creators program and the National System of Art Creators. He currently teaches a seminar on modern novels at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, where he also coordinates a research project on literary hermeneutics.
