Jaime de Armiñán

Jaime de Armiñán (Madrid, 1927) holds a degree in law, but is a screenwriter, film director and television, and writer.

Son of Luis de Armiñán and actress Carmen Oliver, began early as a playwright with Café del Liceo, Pisito of single and the last tram. Eva without apple and Our ghost Calderon won awards Barca and Lope de Vega respectively. His theatrical successes paved the way to become one of the most prolific writers of television, with series like Gallery husbands or Confidencias The Twelve Faces of Eve.

He then worked as a screenwriter and film director in films like Love of Captain Brando, Stice, time witch, sir, the other side of the tunnel, the lame pigeon, 14 Fabian Road, my dear lady and the nest, the latter two selected by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences for the Oscars 1972 and 1981. He then returned to television, where he earned great success writing and directing shows as Juncal (awarded in all the festivals and television where it has been issued) or a national glory, all with tunes created by Vainica Double.

He has published the novels Juncal, bound lovers, Seven nightmares, and the autobiographical The sweet Spain, besides the book of tales Lives bitches. His prolific career has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Gold Medal of Fine Arts, and in 2014, with the Goya of Honor.
