Jean Leví

Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, is a prestigious specialist in ancient China Sinologist. His career as an essayist includes reflections about thinking (Untimely Meditations on Zhuangzi, 2002), politics (The divine officials, 1989) or literature (The Chinese novel, 1995). It has also led to great authors of classical Chinese culture as Shang Yang, Sunzi, Han Fei or Jia Lu. In addition to the scholarly side, Levi Jean has earned recognition from critics and the public as a novelist. Among his literary works are The dream of Confucius, the Son of Heaven and his analyst or Great Emperor automata, which won the Prix Goncourt in historical fiction.
