Jean-Yves Jouannais (Montluçon, 1964) is an art critic, and for ten years he was editor-in-chief of Artpress. He has written essays including L' idiotie (2003), Artists without work (Acantilado, 2014) and El uso de lasruins (Acantilado, 2017), as well as the novel Jésus Hermès Congrès (2001). In 2014 he was awarded the Roger Caillois essay prize from the PEN Club of France.
