
Jeremy Tiang is a writer, playwright, and translator.
His first collection of short stories, *It Never Rains on National Day*, was shortlisted for the Singapore National Literature Prize in 2016, which he won in 2018 with his novel *State of Exception*.
He has translated more than twenty books from Chinese. In 2019, the London Book Fair named him its Literary Translator of the Fair, a groundbreaking designation. In 2023, he was shortlisted for the prestigious International Booker Prize as a translator for his work on *Ninth Building*.
Originally from Singapore, he currently lives in New York.
