George Jessie Conrad (1873 ) was the wife of the famous Polish writer Józef Teodor Korzeniowski Kornad NALECZ - better known as Joseph Conrad . Ignored by critics and unfairly overshadowed by the figure of her husband , she is the author of several books , including: A Handbook of Cookery for a Small House, Joseph Conrad as I Knew Him and Joseph Conrad and his world. Jessie Conrad revealed in his writings as a brilliant woman and with great sense of humor. He died in Canterbury in 1936.
