Jesús González Requena (Madrid, May 12, 1955) 1 is a Spanish teacher, essayist and writer who has developed the textual analysis method known as "Theory and Reading of the Text" - or, simply, "Theory of Text" , Incorporating the contributions of poststructuralism, semiotics, linguistics, psychoanalysis and cultural anthropology. González Requena has applied this method to the analysis of all types of texts, especially cinematographic ones.
