
Jordi Puntí Garriga (Manlleu, Barcelona; July 2, 1967) is a Spanish writer, columnist, and translator. A graduate in Romance Philology, he has worked for several publishing companies.
He began his career as an author by publishing two books of short stories: Pell d'Armadillo (1988), which won the Serra d'Or Critics' Prize, and Animals tristos (2002). Previously, he had translated authors such as Paul Auster, Daniel Pennac, and Amélie Nothomb. He published Maletes perdudes (2010), a book translated into 16 languages, which won several awards, including the "Crítica de la narrativa catalana" (Critics' Prize for Catalan Narrative), the Lletra d'Or, and the Llibreter Prize for Narrative. In 2011, he published Els Castellans, a volume that compiles several articles previously published in the magazine L'Avenç, which revolve around the coexistence of different communities in his hometown of Manlleu.
He is a member of the Germans Miranda collective. Ventura Pons directed the film Animals ferits (2006) based on three stories from his book Animals tristos. He has contributed to various media outlets, including L'Avenç, El País, and El Periódico.
