Jorge Lozano Hernández (El Paso, La Palma, 1951-Madrid, March 22, 2021) was a journalism professor, university professor in information theory at the Complutense University of Madrid and one of the greatest experts in semiotics in Spain. He also served as director of the Semiotics of Culture Studies Group, editorial secretary of Revista de Occidente and director of the Academy of Rome. In his professional career he was linked to Umberto Eco.
