José Luis Fernández

José Luis Fernández holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Buenos Aires (FCS-UBA). He is a tenured professor of Semiotics of Mediatization. He has taught postgraduate seminars on Media History; Media Semiotics; Research Methodologies; Music, Sound Media, and Mediatization; and Research Methodologies at the FCS-UBA; the University of San Andrés (UdeSA); the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Buenos Aires (FFyL-UBA); the National University of Córdoba (UNC); the National University of Rosario (UNR); and the National School of Music, Autonomous University of Montevideo (UAM).

Since 1995, he has directed research projects funded by the UBACyT program for researchers trained in science and technology. His current project (2014-2017) is titled "Text, Image, Sound: Methodological and Theoretical Convergences and Divergences in the Study of the Relationship Between Media and Urban Space."
