Juan A. Pérez Millan

Juan A. Perez Millan. Film critic and writer. Degree in History and Diploma in Psychology. He was director of the Castilla y León Film Library since its creation in 1990 and professor of Audiovisual Language at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Salamanca. Higher Technician of Culture of the City Council of Salamanca, he created in 1980 the Municipal Film School of that city and was director of the Municipal House of Culture. He has been general director of Cultural Promotion of the Junta de Andalucía (1982), director of the Spanish Film Library (1983-1986), Minister of Education and Culture of the Junta de Castilla y León (1986-1987) and has been part of the team director of the Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci), as editor of publications, from 1989 to 2005.
He began publishing film reviews in the seventies and in magazines such as 'Triunfo', 'La Calle' and 'Tiempo de Historia' while he directed the 'Zoom' film book collection at the Editorial Sígueme, in Salamanca. He has made numerous translations of books on cinema, pedagogy, philosophy and literature and among his works are: Eisenstein: The strike (Follow me. Salamanca, 1978), Nikita Mikhalkov. In search of harmony (Seminci. Valladolid, 1988), Pilar looked, film director (Seminci. Valladolid, 1992; corrected and increased ed.: Festival de Huesca and Ed. Caimán, 2007), Pasqualino de Santis.
