Juan Carlos Indart (b. October 29, 1943) is a sociologist, semiotician and Argentine psychoanalyst. Degree in Sociology, during the 1960s and held various research and teaching in the Di Tella Institute, where together with intellectuals like Oscar Masotta and Eliseo Verón, introduced semiotics, structuralism of Levi-Strauss and Lacanian psychoanalysis in Argentina. In 1974 he founded with Oscar Traversa, Oscar Steinberg and Eliseo Verón magazine languages, linguistics and semiotics magazine, pioneer of the discipline in Latin America. He taught "Methodology of Scientific and Social Research" and "architectural semiotics", at the University of Buenos Aires and director of the Center for Mass Communication, Art and Technology of the City of Buenos Aires. He also was president of the School of Lacanian Orientation and the Foundation of the Freudian Field in Argentina
