Besides prominently in contemporary English poetry, with fifteen books of poetry published, Jessie Kathleen Raine (1908-2003) will be remembered above all for his studies about the symbolic and mystical sense of the poetry of William Blake, whoThey reached its fullness with the work Blake and Tradition. Also he published four volumes of autobiography and in 1980, the journal Temenos. Ten years later, he founded The Temenos Academy of Integral Studies, a cultural institution specializing in poetry and its relationship with Plato, Neoplatonism, mysticism and Hermetic tradition. His career culminated in 2000 when receiving the Order of the British Empire and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France.
