Kurt Tucholsky

Kurt Tucholsky, born in Berlin in 1890, studied law and devoted himself to journalism and literature. Author of novels and Rheinsberg Castle Gripsholm (Cliff, 2016), as well as articles and literary and political essays, as between yesterday and tomorrow (Cliff 2003) -selection of texts by his wife, was well known as creator of cabaret songs. In 1924 he left Germany and lived first in Paris and later in Sweden. His work was banned by the Nazis; he committed suicide in 1935 in the city of Hindas.
