Lea Goldberg

Lea Goldberg (1911-1970) was born in Königsberg, grew up in Kowno and, after completing his studies in Kowno, Berlin and Bonn in 1935 immigrated to Palestine then.
It stands as one of the most significant poets in Hebrew. It is also famous as an author of children's books, as a translator of works of world literature into Hebrew as literary criticism. In 1952 he founded the Department of Comparative Literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he worked as a teacher until his death. His work is yet to be discovered both in Germany and in Spain.
