Leena Krohn

Leena Krohn (Helsinki, 1947). A prestigious Finnish writer, she studied Philosophy, Psychology and Literature at the University of Helsinki. His extensive production is made up of novels, short stories, children's and youth literature and essays, and in it he develops many different themes, such as man's relationship with himself and with reality, morality and the border between reality and illusion. In her style, Krohn recognizes influences both from great Finnish poets (Eino Leino, Edith Södergran ...) and from foreign authors, among whom she highlights Hans Christian Andersen, Antón Chéjov, Franz Kafka, Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe. His books have been translated into numerous languages and he has received awards such as the Finland or the Topelius.

His books have been translated into English, Swedish, Estonian, Hungarian, Russian, Japanese, Latvian, French, Bulgarian as well as Norwegian. His short novel Tainaron was nominated for the World Fantasy award.
