Dr. Leon Hammer is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College and the William A. White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology.

He has run a Long Island child counseling and drug abuse counseling clinic, taught at Adelphi University, and served as a psychiatric consultant in medical and educational settings.

After working with Fritz Perls and Alexander Lowen for eight years, he began serious study of Chinese medicine in 1971, first in England and later in Beijing and New York (where, since 1974, he has been working with Dr. John Shen).

He has practiced for many years on Long Island East and currently has his practice in Saratoga Springs, New York.

His articles, covering a wide range of medical and psychological topics, have been published frequently, and he continues to lecture and teach.
