Liao Yiwu (China, 1958 ) is a writer , musician and poet. In 1990 , after publishing his poem " Slaughter " on the Tiananmen massacre , he was imprisoned until 1994. Years later went into exile in Germany , where he lives today. For a song and a thousand songs ( Hans and Sophie Scholl Award) recounts his way through the prison. God is red tells how Christianity survived the era of Mao. Both books were published in Sixth Floor . In 2012 he received the prestigious Peace Prize , awarded by the German Book Guild in the Frankfurt Book Fair.
