Madeleine Bourdouxhe (Liege, 1906-Brussels, 1996) his literary career was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II, but continued to write until his death at his home in Brussels. Among his works include À la recherche de Marie (1943), Sous le Pont Mirabeau (1944) and Sept nouvelles (1985).
