Magdalena González Casillas, was born in Guadalajara Jalisco in 1939. She obtained a Master's Degree in Letters from the University of Guadalajara, where she served as a professor-researcher, entitled "C", since 1977.
Her career and work have deserved the awards from the National Chamber of Commerce for the Best Thesis of Letters (1978); from the Booksellers of the National Chamber of Commerce for their "research on Jalisco Literature" (1988); from the Fashion Group International, for “Outstanding participation in Literature” (2000); from the Artistic Cultural Organization for her "long and fruitful work as a Teacher, Researcher, Writer and Historian" (2000); the "Golden Rose", by the LVI Legislature of the Congress of the State of Jalisco and the Association of Municipal Chroniclers (2002); the Enrique Díaz de León award, as a university researcher (2004) and the Jalisco Prize in Literature (2014).
