Born in Rosario in 1951 is a writer, poet, essayist, teacher and translator. Doctorate in Latin American literature at Columbia University, he lived for many years in New York, dedicated to the academic activity and writing. In 1994 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in poetry. It has been translated into English, French, Italian and Swedish. He has published essays and black Museum, Gallery and fantastic gothic novels such as City and Ursula's Dream and The Annunciation, and several volumes of poetry. In 1997 he won the National Book Award for The Argentine night trip, in 2002, the PEN Award for best book of poetry in translation Islandiay recently received the Konex Prize in Poetry. Currently, he directs the Masters in Creative Writing UNTREF
