Max Beerbohm

Henry Maximilian "Max" Beerbohm (London, 1872 - Rapallo, Italy, 1956) was educated at Oxford, where he stood out as a great cartoonist, and as early as 1892 The Strand Magazine spread his graphic work. A member of the group formed by Oscar Wilde, Robert Ross and Alfred Douglas, among others, he also cultivated writing as successfully as drawing. In 1911 he published his only novel, Zuleika Dobson (Cliff, in press), and in 1919, the collection of short stories Seven Men. Acantilado has published the short stories The Happy Faker (2012) and Enoch Soames (2019).
