
Mercedes Alvarado was born in Mexico City on February 2, 1984. She is a poet. She studied Communication Sciences at UNITEC and completed a Diploma in Literary Creation at the Xavier Villaurrutia Center for Literary Creation at the INBA (National Institute of Art). She is the author and producer of the multidisciplinary poetry project Y hasta la muerte amar (Y hasta la muerte amar). In 2015, she was part of the Musikansk Collective, conducting poetry out loud activities related to the Day of the Dead tradition in Oslo, Norway. She has collaborated with various Spanish-speaking groups in Norway through conferences on contemporary Mexican literature and urban Mexican literature. She has contributed to publications in Mexico and abroad, such as Blanco Móvil, Flanzine (Portugal), and Monolito. Her work appears in the anthologies Púas en el Alambre (Mónica Soto, Amarillo Editores, 2006) and 60 Minicuentos (Mónica Soto, Amarillo Editores, 2008) and Anthology of Women Poets (Ana Carrera and Athena Félix, Aquelarre, 2014).
