Michèle Desbordes was born in 1940 in Saint-Cyr-en-Val and died in 2006 in Beaugency. His novel The Petition (1990) was translated into numerous languages, after an excellent reception in France, where he received several awards. His other books are L’Habituée (1997), Le Commandement (2000), Un eté de glycine (2005) or Les Petites Terres (2008, posthumous).
