Piero Calamandrei

He born in Florence in 1889 and died in the same city in 1956. The son and grandson of lawyers stressed, was one of the great European litigators of the twentieth century, bequeathed to us imperishable works of his specialty, connoted by the guarantor concern and axiológicas attention to the process and substantive implications beyond forms. He also achieved fame as a lawyer, what shone both for its technical quality and its integrity.

He distinguished himself for his commitment to freedom and legality, which led him to distinguish themselves from the earliest moments, anti-fascism. Initially critical of the Resistance, reconsider this position, to become zealous defender of its values, as an ideal of those who would have to give support to the Italian constitutional and democratic advance. And in this, he played a leading role as a constituent and then vigorously denounced the reluctance of the first Democrat majority to develop the Constitution.

He cultivated a child with fortune literary creation: Inventory della casa di campagna (1941) is in this shed his major work. Of its huge production highlights the legal Cassazione civile (1920); also their Istituzioni di diritto civile processuale (1941). He made important contributions to constitutional law, and founded and edited the magazine Il Ponte.
