Pierre Louis (10 December 1870 – 6 June 1925) was a French writer and poet. In 1891, he helped found a literary magazine, La Conque, where works by Parnassian authors and symbolists are published: Gide, Mallarmé, Moréas, Valéry and Verlaine. He published Astarté, which is an early collection of erotic verses already marked by his elegant and refined style. In 1894 he published an erotic collection of 143 songs entitled The Songs of Bilitis (Les Chansons de Bilitis), this time with strong lesbian themes (one of the hallmarks of his erotic literature).
