Rabbi Yosef Caro ben Shimon was a Jewish scholar born in the middle of the 11th century in northern France. He was one of the gifted students of Rashi, something that is evident in his comments to The Book of Lamentations, published for the first time in Spanish by Ediciones Obelisco, in which he reflects on the words of the prophet, analyzes the poetics of Jeremías from tradition and provides the reader with an explanation of the reasons for the destruction of the Temple and the fall from grace of Jerusalem.
