Rabbi Haim Casas (Córdoba, 1981) is the director of the Makom Sefarad and La Sinagoga Abierta projects, which focus on spreading Sephardic culture and Jewish spirituality. A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Seville, he decided to dedicate his career to the dissemination of Jewish-Spanish culture. He was responsible for cultural activities at the Casa de Sefarad in Córdoba from 2005 to 2012, founded the first progressive congregation in southern Spain, Beit Rambam, and opened Casa Mazal, a cultural café dedicated to Sephardic gastronomy. He received rabbinical training at Leo Baeck College in London and was ordained a priest in 2017. He cooperates with Jewish communities and cultural organizations in the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Spain and Morocco. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Córdoba on the Inquisition and Jewish converts. He is an advocate of the diversity of the people of Israel and has collaborated in numerous initiatives of intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
