Until his dismissal from La Vanguardia in January 2018, Rafael Poch-de-Feliu was twenty years correspondent for that newspaper in Moscow and Beijing, nine in Berlin and Eastern Europe, before and after the fall of the wall, and collaborator Le Monde Diplomatique and Du Shu magazine in Beijing, among others. He currently maintains a weekly blog dedicated primarily to international issues rafaelpoch.com. Among his books are three days of August (La Vanguardia, 1991), Three Questions about Russia (Icaria, 2000), The Great Transition (Russia 1985-2002) (Criticism, 2003), The News of China. A world in crisis, a society in gestation (Critique, 2009) and La quinta Alemania. A model towards European failure (Icaria, 2013).
