Ricardo Paseyro

Ricardo Paseyro born in Uruguay in 1925 Since the early fifties living in Paris, where he married Anne-Marie Supervielle, daughter of the poet Jules Supervielle. From 1960 to 1974 he represented his country in several diplomatic posts. Following his ouster by the military dictatorship, Paseyro became a French citizen. He has contributed to numerous magazines and European newspapers and has published several books in French. In recognition of his work in that language, the French Academy in 1990 awarded him the Grand Prix du Rayonnement of Langue Française. All his poetry was originally written in Spanish. The New Library Editorial published in 2000 his Complete Poems (1950-1999).
