Richard Overy is one of the most important historians of the contemporary world. For more than twelve years he has been Professor of Contemporary History at King's College London, and is currently Professor of History at the University of Exeter. Winner of the Samuel Eliot Morrison Prize for a lifetime's work dedicated to military history, his works include Why the Allies Won (2005), Interrogatories. The Third Reich on the bench (2003) and Dictators. Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Soviet Union (2006).
