Harry Sinclair Lewis (Sauk Center, Minnesota, February 7, 1885 - Rome, January 10, 1951) was an American writer. His novels are a satire of the bourgeoisie and its mercantile and religious anxieties. He was the first American writer to obtain the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1930.
