Stephanie Coontz

Historian and sociologist. Professor of history and family studies at Evergreen State College, some of his articles have appeared in newspapers such as The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and magazines such as Newsweek and Vogue. He has taught at the Universiad of Kobe, Japan, and the University of Hawaii.  She is the author of The Way We Never Were, The Way We Really Are and The Social Origins of Private Life, among other books. In 2004 he received the first prize as "visionary leader" of the Council on Contemporary Families. In 1995 also gave him the Dale Richmon award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for his "outstanding contributions to the field of child development."
