
Tash Aw, born in Taipei to Malaysian parents, grew up in Kuala Lumpur and attended university in the UK. He is the author of four critically acclaimed novels: *The Harmony Silk Factory*, *Map of the Invisible World*, *Five Star Billionaire*, and *We, the Survivors*.
His novels have won the Whitbread Prize and have twice been shortlisted for the Booker Prize. His short fiction has won an O. Henry Award and has appeared in *A Public Space* and the historic *Granta 100*, among others.
The television rights to *Five Star Billionaire* have been acquired.
His work has been translated into 23 languages.
