Teixeira Coelho

Teixeira Coelho was associate editor of the Editorial Documents in Sao Paulo under the dictatorship that controlled Brazil from 1964 to 1984. After the closure of the publishing in 1972, was a professor at the University of Sao Paulo. He introduced university studies of cultural action in 1985 and shortly thereafter participated as founder and coordinator of the Observatory of Cultural Policies. He was director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sao Paulo (1998-2002) and recently he has served as curator of the Museo de Arte de Sao Paulo. Author of several books on art and culture, as well as a novelist who won the Portugal Telecom 2007 Prize for Literature in Portuguese.
