Tim Parks

Tim Parks is an author, translator, literary critic, and teacher. Born in Manchester (UK) to deeply religious parents, he grew up in London and studied at Cambridge and Harvard before moving to Italy, where he has lived ever since.
He is the author of eighteen novels that have won him the Somerset Maugham, Llewellyn Rhys and Betty Trask awards, and was nominated for the Booker Prize. He also writes nonfiction literature, about soccer, writing, translation, the Medicis, and trains. His only hobby is whitewater canoeing, an activity that he wants to cultivate until a very old age.
Tim Parks currently meditates every day and claims that he remained absolutely calm in the mornings after Brexit and the election of Donald Trump.
