Vasili Grossman

Born in Berdichev (1905) in a Jewish family emancipated, was not brought up in the tradition of their ancestors. An engineer by profession, he began to write stories during his college and definitely focused on writing in the mid-thirties. He supported the Russian Revolution of 1917, but the Stalinist Great Purge of 1937 affects him closely, in the person of family and friends and, especially, their partner. This does not diminish their commitment to the fate of the Russian people and, despite being exempted from military service, is presented as a volunteer for the front when World War II broke out. His experiences during the conflict that will feed their masterpieces, such as novels Life and Fate, for a just cause and Everything flows and the volume of their chronic Front, years of war, all published by Galaxia Gutenberg. The Soviet totalitarianism end, however, destroying Grossman to requisarle the original texts and prohibit publication. Grossman died in Moscow (1964) lost for ever believing them
