Victor Suarez Carrera

Victor Suárez Carrera is executive director of the National Association of Producers' Enterprises del Campo, AC (ANEC), a network of rural grassroots organizations, producing and marketing of basic grains, in 16 states. It is member of the National Council of Campesino Organizations (KNOWLEDGE) and the No Campaign corn there is no country. It is part of the Defense Committee of the National People's Economy Movement in Defense of the People's Economy. It was uninominal Federal Deputy in LIX Legislature (2003-2006) by 16 Alvaro Obregon district, Mexico City, postulated by the PRD as an external candidate. He was Deputy Director General for Forestry Development of Forest Undersecretary and Director of Support to Rural Marketing BORUCONSA. In the past three decades it has been dedicated to the promotion of independent and self-managed peasant and indigenous organization and change public policy in the food sector. He is author of the book Is there a future peasant agriculture in Mexico? Public policies for food sovereignty and rural development with peasants. He is a frequent writer for La Jornada del Campo. He is a specialist agronomist in agricultural economics from the Universidad Autonoma Chapingo
