Wilfried Stroh was born in Stuttgart in 1939 and a doctorate in classical studies in 1967 in Heidelberg.
From 1972 to 1976 he taught at the University of Heidelberg, and since 1977 he has served as professor at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, where he is an emeritus professor of classical philology.
From various media, such as radio and television, Wilfried Stroh conducted intensive outreach and recognition of Latin as the language of European culture.
