Wolf Wondratschek (Rudolstadt, Thuringia, 1943) currently lives in Vienna. He studied Literature, Philosophy and Sociology at the Universities of Heidelberg, Göttingen and Frankfurt. He was editor in the magazine Text + Kritik. In 1969 he published his first book, the novel Früher begann Tag mit einer der Schusswunde [Before the day began with a gunshot wound]. In the late eighties, he made long trips across the US and Mexico. His work has covered different genres: short story, poetry, songs and film and radio scripts.
