For over twenty years (between 1977 and 2002), Imre Kertesz and critic and translator of Hungarian origin Eva Haldimann held an extraordinary correspondence in which reviewed the work and the difficulties of the writer, his departure from the Association of Writers and all vicissitudes that the author had to cross to get global recognition with the Nobel Prize in 2002. These letters are a wonderful legacy, halfway between autobiography and the essay, which helps us understand the life trajectory and intellectual one of the most important authors of contemporary European literature.
