Luce Irigaray, a psychoanalyst renowned for her work on women's sexuality, was invited to speak at the fifth Québec colloquium on mental health, which had women and madness as its theme. Melee with the mother includes this conference as well as two interviews that illustrate her critical position on psychoanalysis, philosophy and feminism. To introduce her, we would only like to remember this: her word defies all creation of systems. Contemporary feminist reflections can only be enriched by this path that questions Western rationality, founded on exclusion, unlike current feminist thought that seeks to question and open up to another social order. A reading that shows the approaches that Irigaray made more than forty years ago and that show not only its validity but also the need to continue thinking about them in order to contribute to the debates of our contemporaneity.
