The thesis of this book is that the therapeutic bond, the quality of the therapeutic alliance at stake, is of crucial importance to undertake the work of processing the trauma derived from being born with an incurable somatic pathology. Due to its internal structure, the book consists of two parts. The first, more general, groups the first three chapters. In them I describe, successively, the bioethical perspective as a framework for the performance of the clinical task, the construction process of the concepts that guide my practice and, finally, some proposals for the work of what is usually called "diagnostic disclosure". The second part includes chapters 4, 5 and 6. In these, I develop the most specific proposals, what I have come to call the David Maldavsky instrument, in homage to my Master. The instrument
It has two elements designed for the study of specific sessions. One of them is the description of a delimited group of scenes, prototypical, that allow us to establish distinctions between patients who are located in a traumatic position with respect to others who, due to the content of their scenes, can be categorized within what I call position according to the resilience. The other element contributes to study the vicissitudes of the therapeutic alliance in the ludic and verbal dialogue during a specific session, detecting the constructive and obstructive components, both in the interventions of therapists and in the manifestations of their patients. Finally, in chapter 7, I put the instrument to the test through a case study.
