The reader has in their hands the new, updated and expanded edition of one of the classic texts in color studies, which includes the most recent results obtained by research in this field. Language of color deals with the various forms that the conceptual determination of color has acquired, particularly within the different scientific and artistic fields, through linguistic and iconolinguistic approaches related to both its perceptual reality and its phenomenology as well as its designation, categorization and specification. This work not only aims to offer a detailed vision of the different resources that we use to refer to colors and colors as external facts or as experiences, but also a description of synesthesias, those multisensory perceptions, especially chromatic, whose origins are, among other things, others, auditory, gustatory, olfactory, tactile, emotional or intuitive.
