The origin of sadness is the moral map of a landscape carved by blows of inclement reality, of a severely human territory that acquires (for this reason) mythical dimensions. And it is also the stamp of a memory that Pablo Ramos manages to draw with three well-sharpened pencils: the exact writing, the merciless humor and the pious gaze. Gabriel abruptly moves away from childhood when the old profiles of his neighborhood begin to fade and the corrupted waters of the Sarandí stream give off literal flames. He has a teacher who sleeps in the cemetery, where the graves teach lessons about life. He plays with a bar of kids, but there that game is also a game against death. Gabriel conquers the precarious maturity that has been granted to him between rails, sorrows, wine bottles, wastelands, foolish adventures, broken and unbreakable friends and collections that pay for the discovery of flesh. It will not be the only discovery.
