Akutagawa Ryunosuke, one of the most international Japanese authors, took the Japanese story to the highest literary heights with works such as "Rashomon" (1915), "Life of an idiot" (1927) or "Gears" (1927). A brilliant student and avid reader, Akutagawa was also an accomplished and prolific poet. Through his haikus we will be able to reconstruct the personal and intimate universe of a unique and exceptional writer. His brief life as a haiku was marked by love of writing and fear of insanity. At only 35 years old, Akutagawa ended the "vague confused anguish" that consumed him by taking a lethal dose of Veronal.
