It is always a good time to read to feminist authors, and in this day and age it is especially relevant to the "fourth wave" of feminism that is being lived in many parts of the planet. This collective project, which is feminism or, rather, feminisms, is very committed to struggles and demands against hierarchies and social injustice, including LGBT, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, environmentalist, anti-imperialist, anti-specist, anti-militarist, etc. For many people, feminism is a journey of no return and a permanent revolution, which has so far achieved major social changes without resorting to violence. Therefore, it is essential to trace its genealogy to understand the scope of its present and future contributions and struggles. To know and recognize the role that pioneers who began to politicize and name the malaise, oppressions, discrimination or violence against that other half of the long-excluded population. Those who mobilized and theorized the other half of the story that needed to be told. The present volume, organized thematically and chronologically, aims to account for the diversity of feminism as critical thinking, its different currents as of its main concepts, its extensive debates and controversies, combining theory and movement. As bell hooks argued, "feminists are not born, are made" and, therefore, this anthology wants to be a tool that contributes to the becoming feminist of younger generations and of those who are not so much, because feminism is a movement and a place of intergenerational encounter and exchange.
