He was born on September 2, 1926 in Xalapa, Veracruz; He died on January 3, 1993. He entered the Academy as a full member in 1975. He was the 3rd occupant of chair number XVI.

He completed his professional studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM. He was a fellow at the Mexican Center of Writers. He also founded and directed the publishing house of the Universidad Veracruzana and the magazine La palabra y el hombre. On the other hand, he worked in the General Directorate of Dissemination of the Ministry of Public Education. He was the head of the Coordination Department of the National Institute of Fine Arts, where he also held the positions of deputy director general and then director general.

His narrative work is very extensive. It includes: The Empty Machine (1951), Oh, Beautiful World (1974), This Labyrinth of Men (1979), Violet Velvet (1985), The Mushroom Man (1976), Rice Dust (1958), January Justice (1959), The Bordo (1960), The Comparsa (1964), Knot (1970), The Two Angels (1984), Decline (1985) and Otilia Rauda (1986).

Galindo was recognized with several distinctions, among them are the decorations of Great Britain, Poland and Yugoslavia, he also won the Fine Arts Prize for Literature (1984), the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize (1986), the José Fuentes Mares Prize (1987), etc.
