John Locke's Revolutionary Politics is a monograph on the political philosophy of one of the most influential English thinkers of the 17th century. The book's narrative follows the fabric of England's political debates, in which Locke found himself always arguing with great strategic success. There are mainly three: the debate on tolerance as a result of the possible succession of the Catholic line of the Stuarts in the person of James II; the debate on patriarchalism as a result of opposition to the monarchical cause and the possibilities of a republican government that led to its support for the cause of William of Orange as the culmination of the Glorious Revolution against the conservative monarchy of the Stuarts; and the debate on the property and value of money in the wake of the financial revolution of 1690 that traumatically uncovers capital in the form of public credit. It is around these political debates that the whole of Locke's thought is structured.
