The purpose of this study is to examine the philosophical arguments present in Juan Damasceno's Expositio Fidei regarding the concept of image. This concept was of cardinal importance during the transformation period in which the "Saint Thomas of the East", so called by tradition, would very significantly forge its conceptualization. This is a strictly philosophical analysis carried out according to the Theory of Knowledge also developed in the Expositio Fidei. Only from such an innovative reading is it possible to conceive the image as a double being, that is, as a being that, both of intellectual and sensitive substance and of a visible and invisible nature, even from its materiality, can make known and express the invisible of divinity.
